Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association Board of Directors

 President Dr. Paul F. Carey Stratford, ON
Dr. Carey graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1967. He resides in Stratford Ontario and shares an active practice with one of his three children (Dr. David Carey).
Dr. Carey joined the Ontario Chiropractic Association Board in 1971, serving as their President from 1981 to 1983. He was President of The Canadian Chiropractic Association in 1987 and Dr. Carey was a founding member of the World Federation of Chiropractic (representing Canada) and held the post of their President from 2002 to 2004.
Dr. Carey was instrumental in setting up Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association in 1986, at which time he became President, the position to which he continues to hold to date as well. Dr. Carey manages the funds and investments of CCPA, a role that he’s held since the inception. He is the Chair of CCPA’s Adjudicative Committee which with Dr. Greg Dunn, CCPA’s Chief Operating Officer, oversees the professional liability claims for the Corporation.

 Vice President Dr. Jocelyn Ouimet St-Jean-sur-Richeliux, QC
Since graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1964, Dr. Ouimet has practiced in his hometown of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
Dr. Ouimet has been an active member of the Association des chiropracticiens du Québec since 1966, and served as President from 1978 to 1985. He became a Director of the Canadian Chiropractic Association in 1967 and served as President from 1987 to 1988. In 1990 he was appointed as an honorary member.
Dr. Ouimet is a member of the pre-selection committee for the recruitment of professors for the chiropractic doctoral program at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivière. In 1981 Dr. Ouimet was named chiropractor of the year, and in 1995 was awarded the Centenary Prize for Excellence. He became a fellow of the International Chiropractic College in 1984, and has served as a CCPA Board Member since 1989 and was appointed Vice President of CCPA in 2011.

 Chief Operating Officer / Secretary/Treasurer Dr. Greg N. Dunn Toronto, ON
Dr. Greg N. Dunn graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1976. He had an active practice in Manitoba, mostly in the small community of Neepawa, from that time until June 1999 when he became the Chief Operating Officer of Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association.
Dr. Dunn has also been very active in community volunteer work in addition to his many professional endeavors within the chiropractic profession. He Co-chaired the 1992 Manitoba Summer Games and was a founding member and first Chairman of the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation Inc. Dr. Dunn was also the leading force in getting Canada Post to issue a Centennial Stamp commemorating 100 years of Chiropractic in Canada.
Dr. Dunn is a past President of the Manitoba Chiropractors’ Association (which has the dual responsibility of being an Association and a Regulatory Board) and he is also a past President of the Canadian Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Dunn served on the Board of Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association from 1990 until his appointment of Chief Operating Officer of CCPA in September 1999. Among his many daily duties, Dr. Dunn has the huge responsibility of overseeing the complex day-to-day operations of CCPA. He also shares the task of managing claims for the Corporation with our President, Dr. Paul Carey. Also, while serving on the Board of CCPA, Dr. Dunn became Chair of the Risk Management Committee and continued to hold this position until 2007. Dr. Dunn is also a national and international lecturer on the topic of risk and risk management.

 Director Dr. Keith C. Beaton Vancouver, BC
Dr. Beaton graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1973 and has practiced in Vancouver since then.
He served on the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Chiropractic Association for nine years where he held the positions of Director, Registrar, President and Past President – 1974 to 1983. Dr. Beaton has also chaired the Ethics Committee at the British Columbia College of Chiropractors from 1989 to 1996. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chiropractic Association from 1978 to 1985 and has been a Director with Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association since 1994.

 Director Dr. Annette Bourdon Montreal, QC
Dr. Bourdon graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1985 and is currently in full-time practice in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Bourdon brings a wealth of experience to CCPA's Board including serving on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (CCEB) from 2002 to present. During her time with CCEB Dr. Bourdon has served as Vice-Chairman and most recently as Chairman. Dr. Bourdon has also served the as a Judge for Disciplinary Hearings for the OCQ since 1989.

 Director Dr. Ronald Carter Calgary, AB
Dr. Carter graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1965 and also holds a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling from Gonzaga University.
Dr. Carter has been in active practice for over 35 years and over this time he has served on numerous provincial and national political and academic committees. He continues to serve on a variety of Boards and is actively involved in numerous service groups within his community of Calgary, Alberta.
Dr. Carter has published articles in CCA News and the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association.

 Director Dr. Allan Martin Brandon, MB
Dr. Martin graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1977 and also completed post-graduate requirements for the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists. Upon graduation from CMCC Dr. Martin started his clinical practice in Brandon Manitoba where he continues in full-time practice.
Dr. Martin was a Director with the Manitoba Chiropractic Association, primarily as Chairman for approximately five years. He was also a Director with the Canadian Chiropractic Association, primarily as Chairman for their Standards and Ethics Committee.
Aside from his busy private practice and his duties as a CCPA Director and as a Committee Member on CCPA’s Risk Management Committee, which is chaired by Dr. Greg Dunn, Dr. Martin periodically provides independent chiropractic consultations/examinations for Manitoba Autopac, WCB, CFB Shilo (military) and other third party insurers. Also, for the past four years Dr. Martin has provided on-site assessment, treatment and industrial accident and safety protocols for Simplot Canada (Brandon Manitoba’s largest private employer).
Dr. Martin has been married to his wife Heather and they will be celebrating 20 years of marriage in May 2005. They have two children Jarrod, 19, and Kristen, 17. Along with Dr. Martin’s practice and numerous other chiropractic and community commitments he also has a recreational passion in fishing and puttering in his new workshop.
